On Wedneday last as Mr James Maoandrew f|, was driving home he met with an' t accident, being thrown out o( hie buggy by his horse bolting. An examination proved ] that two ribs were broken, the spine was in- t jured, and other internal hurts were received, tie passed a very restless night, and on c Thursday he gradually sank, expiring at halt- I past 3 from rupture of the bladder and inter* l nal hemorrhage, ilia death has caused i considerable regret at Otago and turough the r colony. The Otago Dahy limes says j—We t only feebly express the deep universal regret or the community at the death of a man who ] has rendered eucn eminent services to it as Mr Macandrew, who has set such a preeminent example of patriotism and public spirit, and who had won such wide and s popular affection,
