The Fire Brigade competition and demonstration came to a close on Saturday. The rain which fell made the ground rather shaky. The results Hose and Hydrant Practice (wet). Two men.—Wanganui, 20secs, 1; Dunedin City, 20 2-usec, 2 ; New Plymouth, 21 l-ssec, 3. Curricle Race, for five men,—Dunedin, 40Jaec, 1; Bangiota, 40 4-sree, 2 ; Napier, 42sec, o. Alarm and Bush Practice.—Stallard (Nel. sou), 1; Noel (Dunedin City), 2 ; Carrington (New Plymouth), 3. Tug of War.—Wanganui, 1; Hokitika, 2. Aggregate prizes in Hose Practice, Hose and Ladder Practice, and Engine Practice.— Dunedin City, IB points, X ; Spit, 12 points, 2 ; South Dunedin, 7 points, 3. Consolation llace, Hose Practice.—Wans ganci, 1; Dunedin Railway, 2.
