1 The ordinary monthly meeting was held : on Saturday. Present—Messrs N Grace (in ■ the chaii), H Braitbwaite, E W Dorset, W Parker, J Eayner, U E Bunny, J Stevens and W Booth. The minutes of the last meeting were read 1 and confirmed. 1 Some correspondence was received from different patties relative to the disposal of their properties, and asking that ihe requisite alterations he made in the rate book, which I wo a agreed to. Mrs Drake wrote asking that about 20 chains of bush be felled to allow her to have a j li t c i erected. Left in ihe hands of the ! From Carterton Town Board, asking that the Koad Board contribute wvirds making Hutland Eoad and also to repairing Belvedere Hoad. The Clerk was authorised to ui'«wer the letter stating that the Board was not prepared to accede to their reqnest. A tetter was received notifying that the ! etition had been sent to His Excellency the Governor praving that the Carterton Town Board be constituted a Borough, From South County Council asking that the Constable be appointed Inspector of bUughterbonses. The application was aoi ceded to. From Mr Cuff asking that the gates ou Cemetery Eoad be allowed to remain. On the motion of Mr W Booth the matter was left over for discussion till next meeting. From Colonial Treasurer drawing the attention of the Board to certain clauses of the Local Bodies Loan Act, 1886. Moved that the loans be transferred as proposed. The matter ot allocating the roadman on to the 3 acres reserve at Hurunuiorangi, was lefts in the hands of the Wardens H E Bunny I and N Grace, I

Tenders were accepted (or the following works Gladstone-Loagbnsb Bosd, Cephas and Mongahan, L 22 10s, 13 chains formation Ao., Keynold’s Koad, formation, Ac., Cephas and Monaghan, accepted, at 15s Cd per chain. Hughes' Line, formation, Ac., the same, 10s 6d per chain ; bash falling, Chew Street, 6 M Sayers, L2 XOe. The job, 32 chains wire fencing through Morgan's property, E Morgan'sat 17s 6d per chain, accepted ; metalling Waterloo's line, E Butler’s at L2 3s 6d per chain, accepted. Some accounts were passed lor payment and the meeting terminated.
