Fire in Wellington.
On Saturday morning Mr Arrowsmith’s fruit shop and Mr Lindsay’s well known boot and shoe warehouse on Lambton Quay, Wellington, were destroyed by fire. Messrs Scott Bros’ premises bad a narrow escape and the stock was much damaged by water. The stock in the other premises were consumed. The insurances on Mr Lindsay’s building and stock were £3400 ; Arrowsmith’s stock, £450; Scott Bros, building and stock, £5650.
