WAIBAEAPA JOCKEY CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. This meeting commenced this morning. There are a large number of strangers in Greytown and about 24 Wellington horses are quarteied about the town. List night the Forester’s Arms, the Club Hotel, and the Qreytown Hotel were crammed full with lodgers and every available room in these hostelries were occupied. On Monday at Island Bay, the City Slakes Handicap was won by Soudan, Humor second, and Tit Hit third. No others started. Div L 3 Ss. Chat met the top weight 9at 21b, won the Silling Plate, beating Camerine, Forward, Svlph and Talent. The Wari Pari Stakes were won bv Bocket lOst 2ib. beating General Thornton 6st, Athol Daisy 9st, Teddy Yntl'.e and Fabrication. Div L 4 13s. The District Handicap was won by The Shah 9st 51b, with Forward fist 101b second, Buccaneer 7st 121b third. Why Not and Black Begent also started. Div L 3 3s.
