Four Men Burned Alive in Dunedin.
THE WOODWARE FACTORY DESTROYED. Yesterday afternoon Guthrie & Larnarcb’s Woodware Factory at Dunedin was burned down. The walls fell in with a fearful crash. The loss is estimated at fully Ll-50,000. L 75.000 only covered by insurance. Fireman Macfatlane had bis leg broken ; several others were wounded. Four men perished in the flames.
The names of three were Esquilant, Wallace and Miller, another was a sailor, name unknown ; Esquilant and Wallace were alive when taken out, but died shortly after. The former piteously asked for something to pnt him out of his misery, he was so mangled. The fire was still burning at midnight and is expected to do so for days.
