The financial position of each ward is as follows, against which today's payments have to be placed No 1, credit, L7B Us Id ; No. 2. L 127 15s ; No 3, L 126 Is 3d ; No. 4, L 26 8s lid ; No. 5, L 35 3s Id ; No. 6. L 144 13s Id ; No. 7, L 67 11s 5d ; No. 8. L 293 15s Bd. No. 3 subdistnol includes a balance of L 37 12s unexpended out of portion of grant for Cross's Creek Boad. The Crown Lands rates have been nominally credited to each sub district, and the above balance includes the amounts. Accounts Passed fob Payment. Accounts ordinary Ll93,and imprest, L 42, were passed lor payment. defaultbk’b list. The defaulters’ list representing LB3 19s 7d was laid on the table and after reading over the names the clerk was instructed to give the parties notice that the amounts would be sued for without respect to persons if not paid within 7 days. TUB BANOGBBHIF. Three applications were received for the office of ranger to the Board. H Steffort L 35 per annum, Wm Taylor L 35 ditto, and Beel the present ranger wrote, asking what fault they had to find with him, and stating that he was quite prepared to continue the duties of the office if the Board was agreeable. Mr Elgar moved and Mr Bidwill seconded that Beel be appointed if be accepts L 35 per annum L 5 less than bis present salary. Mr McDougall moved and Mr Harris seconded as an amendment that Steffort be appointed. The amendment was lost. The original motion was carried.

Notice was given that at the next meeting a motion would be made that by special order in the Road Boards Act a poll be taken in five and six wards to test the feeling of the ratepayers re borrowing under the new Loans Act.
