The Projected Antarctic Expedition.
Mi i.uoi'iine, January •>. Mr Gillies, Premier, has received a despatch from the Agent-General with reference to the proposed Antarctic expedition. The despatch states that considerable and increasing interest is being felt on the subject in England, and if the movement were started in Melbourne it would be warmly supported at Home. Sir Graham Berry bad interviewed Sir Allen Yonng on the question, and that gentleman has promised to assist. If the colonies would guarantee £IO,OOO, Sir Allen Young would probably consent to lead the expedition.
