Volunteering.

On Saturday four teams representing the Greytown, Masterton, Feathereton, and Newtown (Wellington) Bifle Companies respectively, competed in a match on the Papawai Range, near Greytown, with the following results: — Masixbtow.

Thus, it will be found, that the Masterton team were the winners by 27 points above Greytown, and 43 points above Featherston. The Newtown team having to leave by the afternoon train consequently, had not the opportunity to compete at the 500 yards range. The weather was rather windy, blowing against the marksmen. There is every probability that at the forthcoming meeting of the Rifle Association at Greytown, a champion belt will be presented to the highest aggregate scorer of the Wairarapa Volunteers.
