London, November 13. Obituary—W. Calder Marshall, R.A„ sculptor; aged 73.
Sydney, November 14,
A Protectionist demonstration took place in Sydney yesterday, several thousands persons joining in the procession. Colonial manufactures were exhibited ou an extensive scale. The procession paraded through the principal streets, and at the Domain addresses were delivered, pointing out the benefits to be derived from Protection. Rio de Jvnieho, November 13, Large quantities of New Lealand and River Plate mutton are now in store.
The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Ruapehu, which left Wellington on s2st October, arrived on the evening of the 11th. Her cargo of frozen mutton was in good condition.
