Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday. Present—Messrs B Boys (chairman), W Booth, J Baynsr, E W Dorset, W Parker, James Stevens and H. Braithwaite. The minntes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, also the minutes of the special meeting held on the 16th October were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported a debit balance of £134 11s. A letter was read from ratepayers in No 1 Ward requesting about 30 chains of rosd to be metalled, also from ratepayers in No 7 Ward asking to have some bash felled along the Maungatarari gully, the same being If miles. From Colonial Treasurer re diversion of debentures. From W. Booth asking that certain properties in the estate of Wm Booth and Co., be assessed in the name of Alfred Booth, also from same, that some other properties be assessed in the name of Edward Eagle. Application granted. The outgoing correspondence from letter boek was read. It was moved by Mr Dorset, seconded by Mr Braithwaite, that certain steps be taken to legalise the exchange of a road at the .East Taratahi. Mr Riley waited on the Board in reference to laying <ff a road from Lincoln Road to bis property. It was decided that the matter be left in the bands of the Warden to report at the next meeting. On the motion of the chairman the names as given to certain roads, as defined at the last meeting was adhered to. Letters from ratepayers were laid on the table. Some accounts were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned. The following changes have been made in the names of roads in No 7 Ward, Carterton ; —Andersons Line to be known as Randolph Rosd. From Main Road past Messrs Bees (ham’s Factory, to be known as Norfolk Road. From Norfolk road to road leading Waingawa Gully Road, to be known as Sussex Road. Rood near Mr Kempton’s, lata Burgess Boad, to be known as Frimsley Boad. Boad loading to Messrs Leek and Fraocis property, to be known as Ashley Boad. Cemetery Lino to be known as Chester Bond. Road to Railway Station near Mr Wyett's to be known as Middleton Boad.
