The Timaru Poisoning Case.
THE EXAMINATION OF CAPTAIN CAIN’S BODY.
The New Zealand Times of yesterday says ; “ Referring to the rumour mentioned in out y eater day's issue ihat the examination of the body of the late Captain Cain had revealed the presence of antimony, we may add that in the enquiry yesterday we were informed on authority that the remains ot the unfortunate gentleman were found on analysis to be absolutely “ saturated with antimony,” all the vital organs and viscera being largely impregnated with that mineral poison. Nothing has yet transpired as to the intended action of the authorities in the matter. It is asserted that those who conducted the examination were bound to secrecy. Our information, however, is perfectly correct.
