Featherston Town Board.

The first meeting of the new Board was held at the Town Board Office on Monday. All the members were present, viz., Messrs Reynolds, Gundy, Donald, Oakly and A. Donald.

The Clerk having taken the chair called upon the new Board to elect a Chairman.

Mr Jag. Donald proposed and Mr Oakly seconded, that Mr Reynolds be Chairman. Carried unanimously. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, also minutes of special meeting on the 11th 8t plumber. The Treasurer's statement showed a balance of £133 lOs 7d.

Mr Gundy was unanimously re-elected Treasurer.

The following ac tints were passed and paid H Steffort, L2 Is 8d ; H Walken, L 3 6s 9d ; C W Keys and sundries, L 4 9s lid ; W Burt. 12s ; W Taylor. L2 7s 2d ; J Crawford, L 5 Ifis fid ; G Didabary, Ll 10s ; Eli Bloxham, L 7 4s ; C J Worsley, L 8 6s ; Licensing Committee, L 7 3s 6d ; total, £37 17s 6d.

The Ponndkeeper’s book and report were laid on the table, and fees paid in, 14s. The Banger's report was read, and fees paid in, £2 2s. The Registrar of dogs paid in fees, Us fid, and the Clerk paid in rent 15s. The Inspector’s report and Works Committee’s report were read. The Clerk reported rates collected to date, £7B Os lid.

Messrs Jas. Donald, J D Oakly and A Donald were appointed a works committee. It was resolved —1. “ That the Clerk answer Mr 0 Phillips* letter. 3. That the application of the fire ratepayers be acceded to, and that notice of this resolution be sent to Mr Pbarazyn. 8. That the resolution passed at the last monthly meeting, re leasing office paddock be rescinded. 4. That the Clerk reply to Pabiatna Town Clerk. A request was received from five ratepayers to have the road known as Murphy's Lins opened.
