Football.
To-morrow the second match of the season between the Wellington aud Wairarapa Representative Teams will bo.played on the Recreation Reserve, Greytown. To suit the convenience of the visitors, who will have to return to Wellington by the 3 o'clock train in the afternoon, the match has been arranged to start at one o’clock. Considerable interest is felt in this match by footballers and others, especially as the Wellington team will bo nearly the same as that which visited Auckland and Hawkes Bay recently, aud when the Wairarapa played Welliugton last month they proved themselves quite equal to their task-although they, were beaten. Borne alterations of note have been made in the Wairarapa team. Baumber, of Carterton, has replaced 'Kemble as half back, aud his punting and kicking will tendjgreatly to strengthen the back play of the Greens. A. Udy is pllaced in a more suitable position as half back where he has been used to play*, ing. Whatman and F. Tullv will be a great addition to the forwards. They have taken the places of Humphries and Ewen, who are uuable to play. The change of Bannister for J. Beard can scarcely be regarded as judicious, when a strong back team such as Wellington possesses has to be met. Beard is a far faster and more dashing forward and his style of play would be far more telling against a Wellington team than strength and weight.
However, the team may be safely regarded as a strong one, and, should the ground only be decent lor the day of the match, Wellington will have to work extremely hard to score a win or even to save defeat.
1 he Grey town Private Band have generously offered to play some selections on the ground during the day. The charge for admission at the gates will be only Is lor 'adults and 6d for children, ladies free, and as the Union is in want of funds to defray the expenses of the coming match with Hydney, it is hoped that a large number of persons will be present.
