Floods down South.

The floods in the South have been rather severe. The inhabitants of Outram, Otago, are fearing that the town will be washed away through the breaking down of the embankment. There has been great loss of stock at the Taieri. At Oamarn damage has been done to stock and crops, and the railway lines damaged. At Pigeon’s Bay a landslip completely wrecked Mr Hay’s house which afterwards took fire. The damage at Dunedin is estimated at £IO,OOOO. The Greytowu (Taieri) telegraph station is reported to have been washed away.
