The Midland Railway.

Th 6 Midland Railway Bill got through the Lower House, but it was thought that danger threatened it in " the Lords.” However, it has passed through Committee in the latter place without material alteration, and is now practically certain to become law. We do not believe that this great Midland Railway schema will prove a profitable one to the shareholders in the undertaking. That, however, is their look but. The Company has got a big grant of land—mostly of the poorest quality—and what they will make of it remains to be seen. We wish them joy of their bargain.
