The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their London office, dated i6ih instant :—Wool—The sale opened with spirit on the 16th instant. Since close of last sales the following advances have taken place ;—Greasy merino, from tjd to 2d per lb ; clothing, washed, 2d to 2jd ; combing, washed, 2d to 2ld ; scoured, 2}d to 3d ; and fine greasy crossbred, id For coarse greasy crossbred the market also is firmer. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good, and competition is active. Foreign buyers are operating with confidence The opening catalogue contained 13,000 bales. The sales comprise about 325,000 bales, and 127,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct.
