THE KIMBERLEY HOLDFIELDS.

A largely attended meeting was held ill Wellington, Wednesday night, when one of the speakers, Ur B. Niedergesaess, suggested that at least 100 intended proprietors should unite and charter a steamer to convey from Wellington all the requisites of a three or lour months’ outing. They should then erect a half way station between Derby and the goldfield, and convey thither half their stock of provisions at once, while a couple of dray* could be employed between Derby and Kimberley. Members of the party would of course be independent of each other so far as opera* tious on the field were concerned, but they could still fall back upon their joint supply of provisions when necessary. A committee might be appointed to ascertain the coat of carrying out the scheme. The suggestion appeared to meet with general approval, and was discussed in a desultory manner at some length. A show of hands was taken in order to ascertain the number of probable adventurers, and about 100 persons signified their intention of proceeding to the goldfield it practicable. Auckland, June 2.
