Wairarapa Rugby Football Union

A meeting of the Committee of the above Union was held at the White Hart Hotel, Carterton, on Thursday evening, Mr Seed in the chair, Messrs Wickevson, Webs er, Dempsey, and Jackson being also prest-nt. The Secretary was instructed to call the attention of the Masterton Club to an infringement of the Union rules in playing with a non-Union Club (the Te Ore Ore Club) on (Queen’s Birthday. The following were the entries received for the Junior Cup contests : —Masterton two teams, Greytown, Carterton, and Te Ore Ore one team each. Three entries were received for the Union Senior contests, but the committee on consideration, postponed the arrangment of the matches sine die. The drawing for the Junior Cup matches took place, with the result that Carterton competes with Te Ore Ore at Carterton on June izth, and Greytown with Masterton No. i team at Greytown on June 26th. Masterton 2nd team run a bye, the winners of the other matches to be drawn for as to who shall play them. The Te Ore Ore Club was added to the Union. Mr Webster gave notice that at the next meeting he would move, "That the resolution referring to Senior contests be rescinded.” The following rules were drawn up to regulate the (Junior Cup matches That the matches be held fortnightly, commencing on June 12th, 1886, to start at 2.30 p.m. Any team not on the ground within half an hour after the specified time, to forfeit the heat. Any man picked to play in the first fifteen match to be debarred from playing in the Junior contest. That it be played in single heats, once losing a match ' the team to drop out. The Cup to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals before it becomes the absolute property of any Club, the winners of the final annual contest to hold possession of the Cup until it has been won again. That the time and place of all heats be drawn and arranged for by tbe Management Committee.
