The result of the match between the Carterton anil Greytown Clubs at the Show Ground on Saturday was a draw, A run in was secured by W. Humphries for Greytowh, but the ball was called i>ack by the Carterton umpire and tho appeal waa upheld by the Referee. Mr C. Kemble acted as umpire for Carterton and Mr F. W. Jackson for Orey« town, Mr Wickersou as Referee. Two spells of 40 minutes each were decided upon and Grey town kicked off. The game was a series of scrimmages with the exception of a lew pood uius made by F. Fairbrother for Oarleituu. The Carterton team was a very heavy one forward and with practice will be ah:e to account well for itself this season. Saturday next two matches will be played in Carterton, the Carterton fleet team playing the Masterton first; the Masterlon second will play the Greytown second. The follow* ing will represent the Greytown Club then — back, G Tally ; three quarter backs, J Jacksou. Byau ; half backs, 0 Home, W Burob, sod H Tally; forwards, Fisher, W Humphries, Say well. Hodman, R Terry, M 0 Tally, Philip (Maori), and G Hume. Emergencies —Maguire and F Hawke. A brake will convvy the team to Caitertou. starting from the Post Office corner at twelre o’clock sharp, and all are requested to be there at that tine sharp.
