Chbistchibch, May 8. The census returns for Eeiapoi district are—Males, 3971 ; females, 3429 ; total, 6895; buildings, 1342. The above figures include Kaiapoi borough, 728 males and 744 females; and Ransiora borough, 789 males and 792 females. The Ashley district has—Males, 2643 ; females, 2166 ; total, 4793 ; buildings, 966. Cheviot district—Males, 2666; females, 1941; total, 1696 ; buildings; 230. The oensns returns for Selwyn County show the population to be, males 14,649, and females 13,569; total, 28,208.
