Carterton Town Board.

A special mestins of this Board was held at the Council Chambers, (Carterton, yesterday afternoon. Present —Commissioner*, R. Fairbrother (Chairman.) A Campbell, 0 II Gardener, W P Allen, fl Callister. UNO UR Boatl rOIMUTIIR The Chairman said Mr Walter Hooker has made an offer to bniid the three bridgee. The Chairman said ha bed asked Mr Booth to attend to give his opinion. Mr Booth said as far as he was concerned he could only say in respect to all the roaca bounding on to No 6. be was willing at all tiuigj to bow to the judgment of the Board. He considered these beck roads were very necessary for the purpose of avoiding driving cattle through the main street. He hoped the roads would-be made sound and substantial. He apologised on behalf of Mr Walter Hooker fur his absence. Mr Gardener moved, and Mr Campbell seconded, that Mr Hooker's tender be accepted subject to his making the approaches to the other bridgee the same as No 1 bridge, the work to be supervised by Mr Callister and the Chairman, outleta specified to be widened if necessary. Carried. Mr Applin attended and banded in an account (or work done. It waa resolved to attend to Mr Appliu’s account as soon aa possible. Mr Callister said more gravelling (three loads) was required on Belvidara road, naar Macdonald’s corner. It was agreed that the work should be done.
