The Featherston school cadets tired lor District Prizes on Friday last under Captain Banting, assisted by Sergeant Major Bezar. The following are the scores, the eight highest receiving prizes. WAIRARAPA RIFLE ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the members of the Ride Association was held at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton, on Saturday morning. Present—Major Bunny (in the chair), W. C. Buchanan, Esq,, M.H.11, B. Boys, Esq., F. W. K. Seed, Esq., Captain D. Donald, (Masterton), Captain Bennett and Lieut Moore (Carterton), Lieut Benton (Featherston), Captain Webster and Lieut Cameron (Greytown), and Sergeant-Major Bezar, Secretary. At the commencement of the meeting the Greytown representatives had not arrived, so the question of the place for holding the Rifle competition this year was carried in favor of Masterton, although it was previously generally understood that Greytown was to he the meeting place this year Consequently the Association's annual meeting this year will take place at Masterton on December 28th aud 29th. A number of new members were enrobed.

Lieut Cameron proposed that all prizes presented be considered to be given for the competition of the Association generally, unless specially desired otherwise by the donors. Agreed to. Captain Webster suggested that no entries be received after 21th December, unless doubled by paying on extra 2s 6d. Agreed to. After local committees were formed, Captain Donald s motion that the meeting be adjourned until December 19th at 12 noon was’ carried, when the local committees will give in a report of the prizes collected and arrange other matters.
