A Monstrous Job.

It is proposed to place a sum on the Estimates for the purpose of giving Sir William Fox a present for his senioes as a Commissioner in connection with the confiscated lands on the West Coast. We trust that Parliament will refuse to sanction such a monstrous job as this. Sit William Fox has already been very highly paid for the service in question, and there is no reason whatever why he should get a single penny more. Besides, Sir William Fox has during nearly his whole public life in the colony received very large sums of money for his services.
