Carterton Cemetery Trustees.

A meeting of the Carterton Cemetery Trustees was held on Wednesday, at the Institute. Present—Messrs Parker {Chairman). Moore, Cailister, Fitzgerald, Anderson, Bairstow, and J. Smith. The Treasurer’s report showed a credit balance in bank of £3O 13s. The trustees commended tho improve ments made by the sexton, and expressed a hope that he would continue the work. The sexton was instructed to cover the ditch, and to form a road into the Presbyterian position of tho cemetery. The balance sheet was read for the year ending June 30th, but it had not yet been audited. Messrs H. 11. Welters and Wilton wore appointed to audit the books of tho cemetery. Mr Parker, having procured some trees to replace those which had died, was thanked by the other trustees for doing so ; aud was asked to get some more planted if he thought it necessary.

Messrs Smith and Bairstow worn appointed to inspect the draining work now being carried out, and the Treasurer requested to pay for the work if those gentlemen wore satisfied. Mr Smith was appointed to interview Mr Huberts to try and arrange fora road through his ground to allow a throughfare to ami from the cemetery at that point. Accounts wore passed for payment and Die trustees adjourned.
