Marble Cake:— White part—One-half eup of butier, one and one-half cups of sugar, two and one-halt pounds of flour, one-quarter of a teiwpoonful of soda, whites of four eggs. Dark part—One-half cup each of butter and molasses, two caps of brown sugar, onequarter of a teaspoonful ot soda, yolka of four eggs, one-half cup of sour milk, two cups of flour, spices to taste ; after each part is mixed butter the pans well, and put iu first a few teaspoonfuls of the white, then of the dark, until all is used.
