Education Board Elections
The school committees of the W. hingtoii district have nominated the following gentlemen for the three vacancies on the Education Board (caused by the retirement, through effluxion of time, of the Hon G. R. Johnson, Mr T. Mason, and the Kev J. Paterson) v;z , Messrs A. W. Brown. D. Speedy, J. Young (ex-master of the Terrace School), and the Revs W. C. Oliver and J. Paterson. Mr A. W. Brown has for years been chairman of the Te Aro School Committee in Wellington, and has taken much interest in the education question. Mr J. Young’s reputation as a t.arher wbtu formerly in cnarge of the Wellington Ten ace School, is well known, while his general knowledge of educational questions is large and comprehensive. The ilev Mr Paterson has already been an able member of the Education Board. The Rev Mr Ollr.er is a candidate for the first time, and Mr Speedy is a weil known Hutt settler.
