The Wellington Meat Refrigerating Company.

Although., the Wellington Meat Refrigerating Company has had many adverse circumstances to contend against during the first year of its operations, it is satisfactory to find by the annual report that the company’s operations have resulted in a profit of 10 per cent ; and when the extra expenses incidental to the first year, and the difficulties of organising a business of this kind in a systematic manner are considered, the directors think that this result is eminently satisfactory. The report proceeds to state that in this early stage of the company’s existence it is not deemed wise to fully distribute the profits earned ; and the directors recommend that the amount to the credit of profit and loss account be dealt with as follows, viz. To pay a dividend a! the rate of five per cent per ninnim £7;j9 ilf; Sd ; to comment reserve fund, £SOO ; to bo ward, £238 Ills 21 , y lOd. The whole Oj. retire with the exception of the managing director, consequently six directors have to be elected to lorm the new Board.
