Struck Dead by Lightning.
Information respecting an extraordinary occurrence transpired at a meeting of tire Auckland Hospital Committee. The members of that body were electrified by receiving a requisition from the house steward for pro. vision of lightning rods for the the reason for the request being that a patient.had been struck dead by lightning last Sunday fortnight. As this was the first intimation the committee, the Press, or the public had received of the occurrence, the astonishment of the committee was considerable. On turning up the leport of the house surgeon it was found that tho death of the patient (named Sp«go) was recorded as being the result of concussion of the brain.
