WAIKERIA ESCAPEES
STILL AT LIBERTY. Inquiry this morning shows that the two escapees, Cole and Baker, from Waikeria Borstal Institution, have not yet been captured. The officials of Waikeina have maintained a diligent search over a wide area, but the men have successfully concealed themselves to the present.
MOTOR CAR MISSING. The Kihikihi police have been notified that a motor car has been removed from its garage on a farm at Arohena, and there is reason to believe that the escapees from Waikeria are responsible. The description of the car is: A Dodge four-cylinder, 1923 model, registered number 97,825; a five-seater tourer, enamelled a dull blue, with mudguards painted black. The car is the property of Mr Edward Bryan, of Arohena, and it is believed the thieves purloined it at about 4.30 this morning,
