TE AWAMUTU AERO CLUB
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The executive committee of the Te Awamutu Aero Club met on Thursday afternoon to consider various matters affecting the club and aviation generally. The president, Mr W. J. Crai.k, and Mr A. Hanna gave a detailed report upon their investigations with a view to securing a temporary aerodrome handy to Te Awamutu, and the possibilities of forming a permanent aerodrome. Three fan-ly suitable properties were available on certain conditions, and the facts obtained in connection therewith would be placed before the Government. The secretary was instructed to write to the Auckland Aero Club for full particulars of affiliation with that organisation. A sub-committee comprising Messrs Craik, Hanna and N. McAlister was appointed to organise a ballot system in connection with assisting those members who wish to undertake flying instruction. It was decided to convene a special general meeting for Monday evening, May 28th, at which several matters of considerable concern to the club will be presented for discussion and -decision. The following notices of motion were tabled: (1) “That Rule 18, section A, be altered to read: Ordinary members’ subscription shall be £1 Is with a penalty of 10s 6d if not paid within one calendar month from date of election.” (2) “That rule 19 be altered to read: The financial year will end on the last day dn March in each year.” Several other matters of minor importance were also dealt with.
