PUKEATUA NOTES
HALL RENOVATION FUND. (Own Correspondent.) On Friday evening last the “ Snappy Spinsters,” of Pukeatua held a dance in aid of the Hall Renovation Fund. There was a good attendance of patrons, mostly young people. The Merrymakers’ Orchestra was in great form, with a capable little band of four instrumentalists. Mrs Davey, Miss Davey and Miss Crowley supplied enjoyable extras. A very nice supper was provided and dispensed by the Spinsters, who evidently had endeavoured to please the palates of the bachelors. Prizes were given for novelty dances, Mrs Whitehead and Mr Holiday, and Miss Froggatt and Mr J. Wright being the winners. Mrs Crowley presented a crystal bowl for competition, and this was won by Mr A. Holiday. Great credit is due to the ladies for snapping in a nice little contribution toward the Hall Renovation Fund, and their efforts were greatly appreciated by the organisers.
