A suggestion that the New Zealand coat of aims should be used on railway carriages instead of the British coat of arms has been made to the Railway Board by the New Zealand Tourist League. The League is of the opinion that the British coat of aims is more appropriate for the carriage of the Governor-General. It was suggested that it would prove of interest to visitors from overseas, as well as making New Zealanders familiar with their own national insignia.
