MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. SEVERAL MATTERS OF INTEREST. Mr G. W. Mair,s presided at the weekly meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union management committee on Monday evening, and also present were Messrs R. Smith, W. McCready, G. Reynolds, A. F. Brewer, W. Whitton, A. O. TJ o o p,| r\ Ck Y\ Re Te" Mawhai Club's protest against Rovers being awarded the third grade game played on May 14th, Mr Mairs reported that _ the player claimed to be over the weight limit was actually under weight.—The protest was dismissed, and the deposit, refunded. The secretary reported that team cards for last Saturday's junior match at Owairaka had not yet come to hand. The applications of C. Thomson, of Te Awamutu Club, and R. Goble, of Rovers Club, for re-grading to juniors, were granted. The alleged illegal playing of R. Waretini by the Kihikihi Club last Saturday was referred to Mr Lowe for a report. The referee in the third grade game at Te Mawhai last Saturday reported having ordered a Te Awamutu player, M. Terry, off the field for striking a Te Mawhai player.—Terry attended and gave his version of the incident. —After discussion, it was decided that the ordering off was sufficient punishment, but warning Terry and others to be more careful. The ordering off of an Owairaka player in the junior match at Owairaka last Saturday, fon* striking an opposing player, was reported by the referee, who added that the correct name of that player was not on the team card.—Tipinui will be required to attend next Monday's meeting, when the matter will be dealt with. Owairaka Club protested against a try allowed by the referee in the game last Saturday with Te Awamutu juniors.—The protest was dismissed as being out of order, and the deposit was refunded. It was decided to request the Referees' Association to be strict in putting down any semblance of rough play. . . The chairman reported that pocketpicking had taken place at the Te Mawhai ground last Saturday. He understood there had also been P^ eT : ing of players' clothing at Albert Park iMr Shepherd put forward suggestions for safeguarding players' clothing and other property while they are engaged in play. He advocated erecting a small lean-to beside the present dressing sheds, and placing a custodian in -charge, the custodian to receive and issue equipment by cnecK, each depositor making a small payment.—After some consideration, the project was referred to a special subcommittee comprising Messrs Mairs, Reese, Shepherd and Haselden to reA medical certificate was received respecting a player injured in a recent game. Mr Bowden presented his rep. team to play Matamata next Saturday, and asked if it was possible to arrange a trial game berore that date.-—lt was reported that the superintendent at Waikeria had offered to play the reps, to-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon, at Waikeria, putting on fifteen players for the first spell, and a fresh batch for the second spell.— Consideration of ways and means was discussed, and Waikeria was decided upon, transport to be arranged. Mr Haselden was appointed manager of the rep. team to Matamata next Saturday. Accounts totalling £l3 14s wefce passed for payment. The secretary was instructed to invite Cambridge to send its junior rep. team to Te Awamutu on June 11th, a date when Waipa would send its third grade team to Cambridge.
