RAILWAY BLOCKED
BETWEEN WAIHI AND TAURANGA. (By Telegraph. Press Association), AUCKLAND, this day. Following recent heavy rains in the district, a second slip occurred yesterday on the railway line between Tauranga and Katikati, and as a result passengers on the express from Auckland, which is due at Tauranga at 4.41 p.m., had to change trains at the scene of the slip and were delayed in reaching their destination. The slip, which is estimated to have covered the line to a depth of 4ft. for about 600 yards, fell shortly afted 4 p.m. near Aongatete, which is about 17 miles from Tauranga. The express, which arrived shortly after, stopped at Aongatete and passengers walked past the slip to a train which had come from Tauranga. Later a second slip came down. The work of clearing the line will begin early this morning and is expected to occupy about four hours.
