PEDESTRIAN KILLED

STRUCK BY SERVICE CAR. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. When walking on the Great South Road, near Papatoetoe, early last evening, Mr Walter Fowler, aged 35, of Papatoetoe, was struck b£ a service car and killed. Mr Fowler left his home in Puhunui Road shortly before 6 o’clock to visit a friend. He was walking south along the main road when he was struck from behind by the car, which was driven by Mr H. L. Parker, of Waiuku. Mr Fowler’s death was practically instantaneous. The^accident occurred just south of Papatoetoe, outside the township. M r Fowler was married and had vthree children.
