REDUCTION IN WAGES
PROTEST AT HAMILTON. HAMILTON, Wednesday. A meeting of protest against the Government’s proposal to reduce the wages of civil servants by 10 per cent, was held in Hamilton last evening. About 300 representatives and officials of the local branches of the various associations were present. The meeting passed a resolution condemning the Prime Minister’s proposals as uneconomic and unjustified in view of the present living costs.
