THIRSTY DANCERS

The thirsty throats of dancers at the annual social of the Gordonton Football Club are usually lubricated with liquor purchased out of club funds. On October 23, when the annual function came round, the committee purchased 18 gallons of beer and several bottles of whisky. To-day the president of the club, George Joseph Peach, and the secretary, Thomas Edward Saxton, well known were charged with selling liquor without a license.
The offence of selling allegedly occurred 1 in the selling of tickets, the which were sufficiently high to the cost of liquor. Thgjirices were: 7s 6d. , Senior ease
