FARMER’S WIFE GAGGED
MASKED MAN AT FARM HOUSE. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) MARTON, Wednesday. Great concern has been caused in the Silverhope district, near Hunterville, by the action of a desperate criminal or maniac. The farm house of Mr D. Meads was visited early yesterday morning by a masked man, who was frightened away. Later in the morning, when Mr Meads was out on the farm, the man returned and frightened Mrs Meads, who screamed to her husband. The man stole a gun and disappeared suddenly. A search proved fruitless, but again in the evening the man returned, while Mr Meads was in a cowshed.
He bound and gagged Mrs Meads, and. ransacked the house.
The police have organised search parties.
