MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT.
ACTIVITIES AT PIRONGIA.
A very enjoyable evening was spent in the Methodist Hall at Piiongia last Tuesday by the members of the Young People’s Mutual Improvement Society, a “Question Box” being the subject for discussion. Speeches were given by several members, the majority of which heartily agreed that impromptu speaking was not as easy as they thought Previously. Although numerous questions were asked and difficult problems were set, all were answered to the best of the members’ ability. In a concluding speech the chairman, Mr J. T. Johnson, stated that although the syllabus from a neighbouring club was > not yet to hand, he hoped it would be available for the next meeting. The subject for discussion at the next meeting is as follows: “Is Time Payment in the best interests of the commercial life of the Dominion?” Speakers were elected, sides were chosen, and the meeting was brought to a close.
