PUBLIC LIBRARY.
Sir, —Like “Avid Reader,” I have. been waiting for some one to take action, to advance the movement of a public library and reading room in Te Awamutu. I was one of the committee annointed at the meeting held some- twelve months ago, but as. no convener was nominated at the time the old adage, “What is anyone’s business is no one’s,” evidently applies :n----this case. I have asked several of the committee to convene a meeting, with the idea of trying to further the project, but so far nothing has been done.. I would suggest that a (representative deputation wait on the Deputy Mayor and ask him to convene a public meeting of town and country rdsidpnts, at an early date. The need of a library, to my mind, is so annarent that I feel confident the request has only to be made to become an accomplished fact. I am, etc., G. S. C.
