LOCAL BRANCH. The ordinary monthly meeting of the above, which was adjourned from 2nd inst., was held on Tuesday, the 17th,' Mrs G. S. Clarke presiding over an attendance of 14. , The secretary reported the receipt of the Government grant towards the nurse's salary for the half year ended 31st March; also of an intimation from the administrative secretary that the Lady King Scholarship for the present year had been awarded to Dr Helen Easterfield. The nurse's report for the month of March showed 24 new cases; visits to homes 54, visits to rooms, adults 152, babies 113, older children 23, total 342; babies under supervision 132, older children 26. The treasurer, Mr L. J. Whittmgton, placed before the meeting for consideration an eminently satisfactory balance sheet for 1927-28, while the secretary submitted the rough draft of the annual report. Both report and balance sheet were approved for presentation at the annual general meeting, the date of which was fixed for Monday, 7th May, at 3 p.m. Members of the committee expressed the hone that this year might see a large attendance of those interested in the society's work . It was decided to invite the. 1 Ohaupo sub-branch to nominate #ftiembcr of its committee for election!" to the branch committee. Accounts amounting to £3O 5s were passed for payment. General satisfaction was expressed at the contents of the collection box, which amounted to £2 17s 7M for the six weeks.
