CATTLE ON ROAD
CAUSE SENSATIONAL CAR SMASH. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) TE AROHA, Wednesday. A peculiar accident happened' last evening, when a car, driven by Mr James Gee, who was accompanied by three friends, was proceeding along the concrete road between Te Aroha West and Te Aroha, A number of young heifers were grazing on the roadside, and one walked across the front of the car, being killed outright. The car turned a complete somersault, then landing on its side, it skidded along the ground for some distance, finally turning over, with the occupants underneath. The occupants haci a miraculous escape, suffeing minor injuries only. Passers-by quickly came to their assistance. and they were conveyed to Te Aroha. The car was completely smashed.
