“Traders must be protected from idle Avasters Avho steal goods from the front of their shops,”' remarked Mr Wyvern Wilson* SjM., in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court. to-d,ay when he sentenced Arthur Robinson to two months’ imprisonment for theft. Accused admitted stealing a pair of boots and a kit bag from the front of shops in Hamilton and Frankton. and a quantity of chocolates from the counter of a confectionery shop. Accused had been® previously convicted fov various offences. He said he was released from prison last (May, and had £9 in his possession. When his funds Avere exhausted he Avas prompted to steal.
