FAREWELL TO SCHOOLMASTER.
An interesting function took place at the residence of Mr A. iScholes. Te Kawa on Thursday afternoon last, the occasion being to bid farewell to Mr H Rentoul and family, whp are leaving the district, when Mr Rentoul will take up his scholastic duties at Fairfield. Hamilton. A few of his more intimate friends took the opportunity of presenting Mrs Rentoul with an .electric kettle as a small token of respect, after which an enjoyable evening was spent in music, song, monologues etc., concluding with “Auld Lang Syne.” The school children also presented Mr Rentoul with a handsome fountain pen.
