RATING BASIS
UNIMPROVED VALUE FAVOURED BY FARMERS.
The farmers in the Waikato district have decided to make representations to the Waikato County Council for an alteration in the present method of rating, and the Waikato sub-provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union will circularise the various branches with a view'to preparing a petition. / Members voiced strong approval of the proposed steps at a meeting of the executive of the Waikato sub-provinelai branch yesterday, and a resolution was passed that the Waikato County Council be approached with a view to securing an alteration in the ratingbasis, and that in future the rating be on the unimproved value.
