ELECTRIC POLES
DANGER TO STOCK. ■Some time ago the Waikato subprovincial executive of-the New Zealand Farmers’ Union communicated with the Public Works Department asking for information relative to the protective devices /against} electrocution being adopted by the various power boards in the Waikato district.
It has been advised that the regulations governing the use of electric lines place the onus on the licensee for seeing that the lines are maintained in a safe condition, but the difficulty in connection with providing automatic apparatus lies- in the fact that there is no relay yet manufactured that will function equally wellon both large and small leakage currents. The performance of the apparatus in use was being w.atched by all interested in the matter.
