The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports:
At Te Awamutu stock sale on Thursday last we submitted a medium penning of fat and, store cattle, for which there was a steady demand. Prices were on a par with rcent sales: We quote: Fat bullocks (medium quality) £lO to £ll 15s. light fat steers £9, good fat cows £7 1I2 S to £9 Is, medium ditto £5 6s to £6 3s, unfinished ditto £4 5s to £4 ISs, fleshy cows £3 5s to £4, rough and aged ditto £2 7s to £3, 20-month steers £3 18s to £4 Is, Friesian ditto £3 2s 6d, Jersey heifer calves £1 17s Gd to £3 10s, good.-quality Jersey-cross 'heifer calves £1 to £1 7s, dairy cows £8 to £lO 10s, others £4 15s to' £6 ss, aged ewes in lamb 13s, well-condi-tioned lambs 14s 9d, light bacon pigs £3 2s. medium porkers £1 19s to £2 ss, best stores £1 Ss to £1 12s, slips 17s to £1 Is, weaners 9s to 14s. RECENT LONDON PRICES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram, dated 26th instant, from its London house: Butter: New Zealand choicest. 168 s to 170 s per cwt; the market is quiet. Danish, 170 s per cwt; Australian, 16Ss per cwt; Russian, 148 s per cwt. Cbeese: New Zealand, 92s per cwt, with a slow market.
