TO-NIGHT.
BEFORE MIDNIGHT."
"Before Midnight," a Royal Picture featuring William Russell, opens at thp Empire Theatre to-night. It has been said here that the picture is the best in which the popular Mr Russell has appeared. This may be due to the fact that he has the role of a United States Secret Service agent, a part to which his talents especially lend themselves. The element of mystery is held through to the climax and every foot of reel is a foot of action. In support of Mr Russell are Barbara Bedford, Brinsley Shaw, Alan Roscoe and R?x Lease. John Adolf was the director and the story was written by Jules Furthman. TUESDAY. • "THE TRUTH ABOUT WOMEN." ' A new Nazimova flames before the cameras in Edwin Careiwe's production of "My Son," the First National Picture which is to be screened at the Empire Theatre on Wednesday. The Russian actress transcends any of her previous efforts and gives a performance that for sheer artistry and perfection of technique stands alone in the cinema field. With keen touches ■Carewe paints the picture of the Portuguese fisher woman who loves three men with the simplicity comparable to a real artist's painting and portrait. Besides Nazimova, "My Son" boasts the presence of Jack Pickford, Hobart Bosworth, Constance Bennett, Mary Akin, lan Keith, Charley Murray and Dot Farley, all of whom gl\ splendid performances.
