MAIL SERVICE TO KAWHIA
CHANGE FROM OTOROHANGA TO TE AWAM'UTU.
Some time ago our Otorohanga correspondent reported that it was probable that representations would be made, on behalf of the contractor, to induce the Postal 'Department to consent, to a change in his contract for conveying mails between Otorohanga and, Kawhia, and to make the Main Trunk terminal point Te A'wamutu instead of Otorohanga. This was denied in Otorohanga, but it is now definitely announced that the Department has consented to the alteration, and that it is anticipated that the new service, Te A'wamutu to Kawhia and return, will be brought into operation on Monday, 14th June. ■■•iD'etails as to time-table have not been, finalised at present, but due pub'Mcity will be given as soon as possible.
